Predictions submitted by Matthew Evans, Alastair Sutherland & Ryan Owens:Elimination Chamber Match For The WWE Championship:
Sheamus VS John Cena VS Randy Orton VS Kofi Kingston VS HHH VS Ted Dibiase
Matthew:
“Raw’s Chamber match will be all-action, full of twists and turns and double-crosses. I believe, this will be the point when we see Legacy officially implode (I’m predicting that Ted Dibiase miscalculates a double-team move with Orton and accidentally knocks into his Legacy leader, leading to Randy’s elimination. A jealous Orton then refuses to leave the chamber and hits Dibiase with an “RKO”, allowing him to pinned and thus eliminated as well).
Kofi Kingston (who missed out on this match last year due to some underhanded tactics from Edge, who actually competed in TWO chamber bouts in one night) will be the “MVP” of this match. He will be the one who does all the “high spots” and inventive jumping and diving around the “demonic structure.” However, for all his efforts, I don’t think Kingston will win.
WWE Champion Sheamus has been booked strong heading into this match, however I can’t see him heading into WrestleMania with World Title gold around his waist. For me, this will come down to two guys: John Cena and HHH.
Cena is reportedly working through a back problem, so to ease the strain, I suspect that he will be one of the last WWE Superstars to be released from his pod. Due to the aforementioned injury problem, I can’t see WWE putting the belt back on Cena. However, I CAN see HHH winning the title, as this would most certainly send his DX buddy Shawn Michaels over the edge with jealously, especially considering the trouble he’s had trying to bag himself a rematch with The Undertaker at WrestleMania and making a worthwhile contribution to “The Granddaddy Of Them All.”
Winner: HHH
Alastair:
“One thing is for sure Sheamus will not be defending his title at Mania, There are a few options here, either they do what they have done before with Kingston and have HBK take him out and takes his pod, turning heel or Triple H wins the title and says he wants to face Michaels at Mania.
Prediction - HHH to win the title.”
Winner: HHH
Ryan:
“I think it will be Cena and Sheamus to start and Cena is going to beat him black and blue for the first five minutes. Then Ted Dibiase is going to come in and he's going to take a beat down until him and Sheamus double team Cena. Next, HHH will enter the match, and he'll dominate to the point that him and Cena take turns squaring off on both Sheamus and Dibiase. Then Orton will enter and double team HHH with Dibiase, while Sheamus goes back to beat on Cena.
Out of nowhere, Orton will eliminate Dibiase with an RKO, but when the Chamber door opens for Dibiase to leave, Rhodes will come in and both he and Dibiase will double team Orton. Ironically, because he really has no vested interest in helping Orton, Cena will chase away Legacy while HHH hits Sheamus with a Pedigree and eliminates him from the match.
Kofi Kingston will enter last (while Sheamus is still "hurt" in the ring, and Orton is recovering from his attack) and put a drop kick beat down on Cena, HHH and Orton, until HHH catches him in a spine buster and then goes for the Pedigree, but eats a pump kick by Sheamus.
As Sheamus leaves the match, Kingston will hit HHH with the Trouble in Paradise kick. Then while HHH is on the ground, Orton will connect with a running punt to HHH's head. Kingston will cover HHH and eliminate him, while Cena scoops Orton up, F-U's him, then eliminates him.
The final two we think will be Kingston and John Cena, especially since Kingston was short-changed last year. Kingston and Cena will have a strong little singles match, before Cena counters the Trouble in Paradise kick by catching Kofi's foot and locking him in the STFU for the submission and win.”
Winner: John Cena
Elimination Chamber Match For The WWE World Heavyweight Title:
Undertaker VS CM Punk VS R-Truth VS Chris Jericho VS John Morrison VS Rey Mysterio
Matthew:
“I think this one will be the more exciting chamber match of the two. Undertaker will come in late (as I don’t think it would be wise for him to work the full match due to injury woes and his age; better to preserve him for a bigger show like WM) and that Mysterio will be the “human lawn dart” of the bout; getting tossed around and into the chamber wall by his opponents.
I think CM Punk will take an early elimination, while Jericho and Morrison will make it to the “final three” with Undertaker. I predict that poor R-Truth won’t even make it inside the chamber; he’ll be taken out by a desperate Shawn Michaels (who let’s remember, begged SD! GM Teddy Long to put him in the match; when Long refused, Shawn cold-cocked him with “Sweet Chin Music”). Truth will be the last entrant in the match (‘Taker will enter just before him), and while Michaels won’t officially compete, he will cost Undertaker the match and the title (Jericho will be the opportunist who capitalises on the moment). This will force Undertaker to accept a rematch with Shawn at WM, purely for reasons of revenge.”
Winner: Chris Jericho
Alastair:
“I suspect Taker will walk in and out of mania with the title this year, strange that Batista isn't involved.
Prediction - Taker to retain.”
Winner: Undertaker
Ryan:
“I think this match will start with Morrison vs Rey Mysterio. Then after a very exciting five minutes, CM Punk will enter the ring and turn this bout into an intense triple threat match. Next Jericho will come in, and I think in the span of five minutes, Punk and Jericho will eliminate Mysterio and Morrison, bringing the match back down to a singles fight. At number five, R-Truth will enter and after a valiant effort, the dual finishers of Punk and Jericho will take him out.
I think then Punk and Jericho will pause, as if to wait on the Undertaker to come out, then turn the match into a kind of handicap match where they both try to take him out. Undertaker will overcome CM Punk though and eliminate him. When the Chamber door opens for Punk to leave, I see Edge coming in and spearing the Undertaker for what happened last Friday. Jericho will capitalise on Edge's spear with a Lionsault to the Undertaker and pin him for the elimination, and win the World Title.”
Winner: Chris Jericho
WWE Intercontinental Title Match:
Drew McIntyre VS Kane
Matthew:
“Kane has held the IC Title before but has little to gain from winning it again. Meanwhile, McIntyre would benefit from the “bragging rights” and the increased momentum he would achieve from toppling the “Big Red Monster”, albeit under controversial circumstances.”
Winner: Drew McIntyre
Alastair:
“Kane in a title match, when was the last time he had a title match?
Prediction – Kane.”
Winner: Kane
Ryan:
“This is a good match for McIntyre if the WWE is serious about building him as a future main event prospect. Kane, while well past his glory days, can still deliver bell to bell, and McIntyre needs matches against guys like Kane who can challenge him physically and with their experience.”
Winner: Drew McIntyre
WWE Divas Championship Match:
Gail Kim VS Maryse
Matthew:
“This could either be a great match or a complete disaster. Gail Kim’s talents have been vastly under-appreciated by WWE thus far, although things could admittedly be looking up as they have put her in this match for the vacant WWE Divas Championship.
Gail certainly has the skills, but Maryse (as great as she is character-wise) can be sloppy in the ring, and if she slips up here, this match runs the risk of falling apart.
However it turns out, I predict that Maryse will be the winner as she is a “WWE favourite”, plus the Divas division could benefit from having a heel champion like her, with the likeable Gail Kim chasing her for the title.”
Winner: Maryse
Alastair:
“Maryse to win.”
Winner: Maryse
Ryan:
“It’s tough picking a winner here, but Maryse just seems to be one of the WWE's favourite projects, and they've never really backed Gail Kim in the past, so while I'd love to see Gail Kim win, I think the smart money is Maryse.”
Winner: Maryse
