Former WWE/WCW/ECW Superstar Ron "Farooq" Simmons has confirmed that his match tonight for Historic Purks International Championship Wrestling will be his last. Ron will be doing a "Q&A" straight after the show with the first 100 fans that request admission. "Big Ron" has promised a "no holds barred" session in which he will answer "any and all" questions.
Simmons will also be inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2010. The induction ceremony will be held February 20 in Macon.
Throughout his long and storied career, Simmons has worked for WCW (World Championship Wrestling), ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) and WWE. He is a former WCW World Champion (beating Vader in 92') and was part of the hugely successful "Acolytes/ APA" tag-team with John "Bradshaw Layfield" throughout the "Attitude Era" of the WWE.
Everyone here at Smash Wrestling would like to thank Ron for the memories and wish him a happy and healthy retirement.
