In a further update on Awesome Kong's TNA status, she apparently requested her release this past Tuesday following the aforementioned "Bubba incident" at Monday's tapings. She reportedly noted to friends that the incident with Bubba was the "straw that broke the camel's back" as she had apparently been unhappy for some time.

It is believed that TNA hasn't responded as yet, as they are hoping that she will change her mind. According to one source, "Kong is really disappointed in the fact that this company that once had class has turned into a paranoid backstabbing contest because people in management are too worried about keeping their jobs to really voice their opinions or represent the talent appropriately" before adding that "They sold all the talent that they were a team [before Hogan/Bischoff arrived]... but then moved forward without rewarding anyone, and benched half the original roster on top of that."

Kong has since admitted fault in her showdown with Bubba, saying that she only planned on giving him a "piece of her mind", however things quickly got out of hand. Kong cited lack of sleep (she had spent her free time raising funds for the Haiti victims and was also upset at the death of her mentor, wrestling promoter Ed Chum) and said that "delirium took over" and she ended up smacking Bubba over the head instead of talking to him.

According to one of Kong's friends, the former TNA Knockout's Champion is "furious" with Bubba for ripping into her on Howard Stern's show and for apparently attempting to make an angle out of it on his own radio show.

Kong is currently at home pondering her future. She was originally booked for TNA's "Maximum IMPACT!" tour of the UK, but following recent events, will reportedly be missing those dates now.
