SmashWrestling Interview

Interview with ECW's Jasmine St Claire
by Angelo (a.k.a. Groovico)
of EWN & SmashWrestling.com 1/01

ECW's Jasmin St Claire took time out from her busy schedule to talk about her newfound wrestling career, already a world famous star in her own right, Jasmin aims to be a major player in the wrestling industry!

Here at Smashwrestling.com we recently had the chance to interview the world famous Jasmin St Claire about her new career in Wrestling.

Angelo: Hi Jasmin, thank you for taking the time to do this interview with us. It's a big jump from your previous career to the wrestling business, what inspired you to make the change?

Jasmin St Claire: Yes it is! But, for the first time in my life I love the people that I work with, we all respect one another and I love my job. I have always been a wrestling fan since the age of 7. Besides, I got sick of dealing with ignorant, uneducated irresponsible fools in my previous career and decided it was time to change. So, I quit whilst being at the top.

A: Were you a wrestling fan to begin with or is it a newfound interest?

Jasmin: I was watching wrestling long before my 2nd love - IronMaiden!

A: How did you meet up and become involved with Blue Boy?

Jasmin: I met him at some indy shows that we worked on together and finally started getting to know him in March of 2000. Our friend Dave introduced us.

A: Where do you see your career going? Do you want to get involved more in the ring?

Jasmin: Sue Sexton first trained me and I am now training with Mando Guerrero, I intend to use those skills in the ring. I intend on being a very popular female in wrestling.

A: Whilst on Jerry (the King) Lawlers site I spotted a photograph taken at Jerry's own federation Memphis Championship Wrestling with you in the ring with Kat, how did this come about and are you a regular at MCW?

Jasmin: I started working there back in April until June and then went on to ECW( Extreme Championship Wrestling). I went down to Tennessee to visit the Blue Boy since he invited me there and then I was asked to work there. I loved it there (MCW) as a start for my career. I enjoyed training with Steve "William" Regal and working for Jerry Lawler.

*Reader note MCW is a WWF development ground many wrestlers such as K-Kwik, William Regal, Joe Abs, Kat have wrestled here.

A:
What was it like working along side the Kat?

Jasmin: I loved working with her. She was a pleasure to work with and very professional.

A: Have you been taking wrestling lessons and if so who has been training you?

Jasmin: Sue Sexton trained me & now Mando Guerrero is training me. Sue gave me plenty of encouragement & great technical moves. Mando is taking me to the next level & has given me plenty of courage. He is teaching me how to do the moonsault.

A: Given the opportunity who would you most like to work an angle with out of all three main federations?

Jasmin: I think that it is best to stay at one federation at a time. Eventually, I would like to work for each federation at one point in my career.

A: Here at SmashWrestling we occasionally like to have a little word play, I'll mention some names and you tell us the first thing that comes into your mind for each, there is no specific reason for the list it just lets fans know some of your thoughts!

Jasmin's answers are in green text:

Paul Heyman - I thank him for giving me a chance & helping me out. he is very talented & creative.
Ivory - talented and pretty.
New Jack - Extreme!!!!!!!!!!
Steve Corino - Talented and a wonderful person.
Amy Dumas - Great!
Blue Boy - My sweetie!
Hulk Hogan - I loved watching him back when he with the WWF.
Tommy Dreamer - A phenomenal worker.

A: Did / Have any of the Big 2 contacted you yet about working for them?

Jasmin: Yes, one of them did.

A:
What do you think the future holds for you, The Blue Boy & ECW?

Jasmin: I think my future in pro wrestling will be very bright and the same with ECW. Blue Boy lost 150lbs and deserves another break! He did what he was told to do by the WWF and they never should have let him go.

A: What's it like working with federations like ECW?

Jasmin: I love it. Everyone there is so helpful & they have a great operation.

A: Do you get on with the ECW locker room?

Jasmin: Of course I do. These are all talented people with brains and a sense of reality. They are like a 2nd family to me, not a bunch of moronic unarticulated psychos.

A: Many of our female readers often ask how they can start off in the wrestling industry, do you have any words of advice you could offer them?

Jasmin: I am better at giving advice on financial planning , traveling, hair salons, relationships & foreign languages - not getting started in wrestling - sorry!

A: Is there any other feds that fans should keep an eye out for you appearing at?

Jasmin: Just ECW now.

A: To end on, is there anything else you would like to say to your newly found fans?

Jasmin:I love all of you! For all of my fans in the UK - I love the UK, it was my home for 2 years! Check out my site at www.jasminsasylum.com

A: From all our readers and everyone at smashwrestling.com a big thank you for your time Jasmin and we wish you all the best with your newfound career!
