Peter:
How does it feel to wrestle every week for one of the,
if not the most exciting wrestling companies around?
Steve C: ECW puts together, in my opinion, puts
on the best shows in pro wrestling today. It is a treat
to go to work every week.
Peter: With regard to
your first ever PPV, how did you feel?
Steve C: I was very excited
but also very nervous. I wrestled Balls Mahoney and took
a massive chair shot to the head. But when you are on
Pay Per View, it meant that I had arrived in the wrestling
business.
Peter: Who do you most
respect in the business, besides yourself?
Steve C: There are so
many guys that I respect that it would take me weeks to
name them all.
Peter: In recent times
you were associated with "The Network", how come you decided
to strike out on your own?
Steve C: It was time.
The fans had really come to respect me and after the feud
with Dusty Rhodes I knew it was time to be on my own.
Peter: With your "expulsion"
from The Network you then moved onto facing Justin Credible,
how did you that?
Steve C: The Network
had put so much into Justin as the World champion and
Rhino as the World TV champion, that I was pushed to the
waist side to take the heat with guys like Tajiri and
Lynn. Forget that! I can start more trouble than Cyrus
could ever imagine, you think I was going to let him and
Justin out heel me?
Peter: Given time and
opportunity would ever consider going to the alleged big
two....if so, who?
Steve C: I am very happy
in ECW. This is my home.
Peter: If you were in
one of the Other two Feds, who would you like to work
a program with and why?
Steve C: There isn't
really anyone I wouldn't work a program with. Maybe Bradshaw
though. He looks like he murders you with that clothesline.
Peter: Ok lets play word
association, next to each word tell us the first thought
that enters your head:
Steve Corino answers in bold
green below each phrase:
Toughest Opponent So Far:
- Tajiri
Dream Opponent:
- Tully Blanchard
Best Match (so far):
- Dusty Rhodes at Living Dangerously
Tajiri?
- The best Japanese wrestler today
Justin Credible?
- The Ric Flair of the new millennium
Rob Van Dam?
- The greatest athlete in wrestling
Cyrus?
- A great person with the mic
Steve Corino?
- The future of wrestling
New Jack?
- Watch out for the trash can....and the fork..and the
crutch...
Peter: What's the most
memorable moment of your entire wrestling career?
Steve C: Meeting and
being in a program with The American Dream.
Peter: What has been
the most dangerous point of your career?
Steve C: The blood spilled
at Heat Wave 2000 vs. Jerry Lynn
Peter: Many wrestlers
fight through injuries and put exceptional strain on their
bodies, do you do any special preparation before entering
a hardcore match up?
Steve C: Pray!
Peter: What do you think
of the current ECW World Champ?
Steve C: I think Justin
is the perfect ECW World champion. He is like a young
Ric Flair in terms that everyone in the building thinks
that he is going to lose the title.
Peter: Which wrestler
would you most like to work a program with?
Steve C: Simon Diamond
Peter: If you were to
wrestle butt naked, bar a Mideon style crotch pouch, who
would you be in the ring against and do you think anyone
would be watching?
Steve C: NO answer given
(editor: and who can blame him!)
Peter: Obviously ECW
is the best wrestling federation but what in your opinion
would make it even better?
Steve C: More exposure.
Peter: Will we ever see
Steve Corino as World champ?
Steve C: I sure hope
so. That is the goal.
Peter: Any final thoughts
on anything?
Steve C: Visit stevecorino.com
