What can I say, what a vast improvement compared to its little sister ECW Hardcore Revolution, which in fact felt like a carbon copy of WWF Attitude. Most fans (My self included) felt that the control scheme of Hardcore Revolution was way to complicated, I mean you had to hit at least 6 different button combinations just to pull off a simple bloody body slam. However with Anarchy Rulz that seems a thing of the past, the new controls seem much easier and fresher to follow plus you seem to intuitively start playing, basically getting a good feel for the game.

Here is the control scheme for the game.

Triangle - Punch
Circle - Tie Up / Pin
X - Block / Reverse Opponents Move
Square - Kick
L1 + X - Pick up/Drop Weapon
L1 + Square - Call In Partner (1 player tag match only)
L1 + Circle - Tag Partner
L1 + Triangle - Swap control with tag partner in or out of ring
L1 + L2 - Climb cage, turnbuckle
L1 - Run
L2 - Dodge / Show Mercy break pins and submissions
R1 - Shift Button
R2 - Change Wrestler Focus

Now past the game play the options are amazing, with many never before seen or played games modes: - Brimstone Match, Table Match, Back Street Fighting, Stable Mode, CAW mode, Octagon cage Matches and Dumpster Matches. As well as Vs, Tornado, One on Two , One on Three, 3 Way Dance, 4 Way Dance, Lumberjack, Battle Royal, Stable Match, Tag Team, Death Match, Cage Match, Last Man Standing, Street Fight, Barbed Wire, Dumpster, Inferno (Brimstone) and of course Tables.

There is lots to do in this game, and even if you weren’t a fan of ECW there are more than enough names on the roster that you will recognise for you to sit down and really enjoy kicking some ass!

Reason for playing it... Oh My God!!!... it’s ECW, it’s fun, it’s hardcore and of course it’s EXTREME!!!!
